Apple has ended online U.S. sales of its “Designed By Apple in California” book, which chronicles 20 years of Apple design through 450 photographs of their products and the processes used to make them.
A webpage devoted to the book is still available from Apple’s servers, but the links to the book on Apple’s online store result in a “page not found” message. Searching for the book on the U.S. Apple website and in the Apple Store app also return no results.
At the time of this article, the book is still available in the Apple Online Store in other regions, such as the U.K. store, but stock appears to be dwindling.
Released in 2016, the tome includes 450 photos of past and present Apple products, covering products ranging from the 1998 iMac to 2015’s Apple Pencil. The book “documents the materials and techniques used by Apple’s design team over two decades of innovation.” It is dedicated in the memory of former Apple CEO Steve Jobs.
The linen-bound hardcover edition was available in two sizes and printed on specially milled, custom-dyed paper with gilded matte silver edges, using eight color separations and low-ghost ink.
