Analyst Predicts All Three 2019 iPhones to See September Release

True, it is widely expected that we’ll see Apple unveil its 2019 “iPhone 11” lineup next month. (September iPhone events have become a tradition.) However, a Wedbush analyst says we’ll see all three 2019 iPhones hit shelves in September, unlike last year, when the iPhone XR hit shelves in late October.

Apple also announced the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X in September 2017, but the iPhone X wasn’t actually available until November of that year.

Dan Ives at Wedbush reports that the iPhone 11 triple play will hit shelves in the second week of September. Most predictions so far have the iPhone release date set for September 20, so Ives’ prediction sees the device being released a bit earlier than that.

Ives’ report also offers his predictions on how much of a Trump tariff on Apple products the Cupertino firm would absorb before raising prices. He says the iPhone maker would absorb a 10% tariff on affected products, such as iPhones, iPads, AirPods, and Macs.

If the trade war continues into 2020, Apple may have to pass the added expenses on to consumers, and Wedbush analysts estimate Apple would sell around 8 million fewer iPhones in the U.S.
