Apple CEO Tim Cook joined his fellow Apple employees at the annual San Francisco Pride Parade on Sunday, marching with other participants, celebrating the LGBTQ community.
Cook posted to Twitter about the event, saying, “Happy Pride to everyone celebrating around the world! Great to see so many Apple employees marching today in San Francisco!”
Cook’s tweet also included a photo of the Apple employee group marching, wearing t-shirts and holding signs and banners bearing the Apple logo. Cook also appeared in selfies with other social media users and Apple employees that were posted to Twitter.
Apple takes part annually in the San Francisco Pride parade. In addition to Cook, other Apple executives attended – including Deirdre O’Brien, the company’s latest retail head.
The Cupertino iPhone maker regularly makes charitable donations to LGBTQ causes. Proceeds from sales of Apple’s 2019 Pride Edition Sport Loop for the Apple Watch go to a variety of LGBTQ advocacy organizations, including GLSEN, PFLAG, The Trevor Project, and Gender Spectrum.
CEO Cook has often spoken of his support of LGBTQ rights. Cook is the first openly gay CEO of a major U.S. corporation.
