iPhone Assembler Foxconn Now Hiring for Production of ‘iPhone 11’

Apple’s main iPhone assembly partner, Foxconn is now hiring additional staff, as it gears up for the production of the upcoming three new iPhone models to debut this year.

Foxconn is reportedly recruiting new staff and offering incentives to existing staff to continue with the company. The Economic Daily News reports the company is increasing recruitment despite reports that iPhone sales will be similar to last year’s numbers.

EDN says the company has offered approximately $675 to each previous employee to return to their assembly line to produce the new iPhones.

Recruitment is also being increased, and Hon Hai, parent company of Foxconn, is said to have released information saying employee trial periods were being shortened to one month.

While Foxconn would not confirm the recruitment and enticements were for the iPhone production line, Apple is one of their largest customers, and Apple is expected to unveil a trio of new iPhones in September.

The report says Foxconn will be again be producing two high-end OLED iPhones this time around, to replace the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. This year’s iPhone XR replacement, which will sport an LCD screen, may be produced at least partially in India.
