LG UltraFine 5K Display No Longer Available From Apple Store in the U.S.

Apple this week has halted sales of the LG UltraFine 5K Display from the Apple Store in the United States. The monitor is now listed as “Sold Out” in the Apple Online Store, and is unavailable for pickup in Apple Retail Stores.

Sales were halted in the last few days, as MacRumors reports the 5K LG Display was in stock and available for shipping just recently. Since the monitor is still listed on the Apple website, so it isn’t clear if the sales halt was due to restocking issues, or if Apple will stop selling it for good.

The “sold out” status of the 5K monitor comes on the heels of last month’s removal of the 4K LG Ultrafine Display from the store. The 4K monitor was at a “Sold Out” status for some time before it was removed completely from the website.

Apple and LG formed a partnership to design and sell the 4K and 5K monitors, and were intended for use with the 2016 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pro models, which supported Thunderbolt 3 for the first time.

The 27-inch LG UltraFine 5K Display is still available from Best Buy and Amazon, and is still listed on LG’s website.
