Apple Releases watchOS 5.2.1 to Public – Enables ECG Functionality for Additional European Countries

Apple today released watchOS 5.2.1 to the public. The update to watchOS 5 runs on compatible Apple Watch devices. The update brings the ECG function to new European countries, enables irregular heart rhythm notifications in other countries, and provides bug fixes.

WatchOS 5.2.1 can be installed via the Apple Watch app on the device’s attached iPhone. Go to “General” -> “Software Update” to install the new software. The Apple Watch should have at least 50% battery life, be connected to a charger, and be in range of the iPhone.

The update brings the following feature, improvements and bug fixes:

  • ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 now available in Croatia, Czech Republic, Iceland, Poland and Slovakia
  • Irregular heart rhythm notifications now available in Croatia, Czech Republic, Iceland, Poland and Slovakia
  • Fixes an issue where the numbers on the Explorer face would not appear for some users

In addition to the above updates, watchOS 5.2.1 also adds new Pride watch faces (first noticed by MacRumors), as seen below:
