More third-party “iPhone XI” case renders appeared on the net this morning, via Slashleaks. The images jibe with previous leaks that suggest the successors to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will sport a triple-lens rear camera in a triangular array inside a square device bump.
Case manufacturers often create renders of upcoming iPhones ahead of their unveiling, so they can be among the first to have accessories ready for the new devices. Quite often, these renders are accurate, but there have been cases where the companies were way off on the design of a device.
Today’s renders come on the heels of the release of iPhone XR successor renders released on Wednesday by Pricebaba.com and, @Onleaks. Those renders feature a similar square bump, but with a dual-lens set up.
Today’s case images back up previous rumors about what Apple’s 2019 OLED iPhone lineup will look like.
The Wall Street Journal earlier this year reported that Apple’s 2019 iPhone lineup will feature three “flagship” models, 2 of which will sport an OLED screen, and 1 model with an LCD screen, similar to 2018’s lineup.
The high-end model of the “iPhone XI” lineup (the replacement for the current iPhone XS Max) will feature a triple rear camera lens system, while the iPhone XR replacement will receive a dual-lens upgrade.
Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that both the 5.8 and 6.5-inch OLED flagship iPhones will feature triple-lens rear cameras boasting a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel super wide-angle lens.
As usual, be sure to reach into your cupboard and grab your favorite salt-free seasoning and take a grain of it, as all of these reports and renders must be considered as rumors until Apple makes an official announcement in September.
