Google Maps April Fools Feature: A Version of Classic ‘Snake’ Game

Google Maps is celebrating April Fools Day with a geographical version of the classic Snake game, playable in the Google Maps app, or in your web browser.

As first noticed by MacRumors, users can play the game by launching the Google Maps app, tapping the hamburger menu in the upper left-hand corner of the display, and then tapping the “Play Snake” menu option.

Players can select which city they’d like to play in – be it Cairo, London, San Francisco, São Paulo, Sydney or Tokyo – and then navigate the screen to pick up as many passengers as possible without running into their ever-growing tail or running off the map.

If you don’t see the Snake option immediately, be patient, as Google says Snake is rolling out to iOS and Android devices today, and will be available for about a week. You can also visit a standalone Snake site to play the game in your favorite browser.

Google Maps is free for iOS devices, in the App Store. [GET IT HERE]

Happy April Fools Day!
