Apple has posted a pair of new videos on its YouTube channel that highlight the Depth Control and Smart HDR features on its iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR handsets.
The first video, “The Backdrop,” features the Depth Control feature by showing a shot of a woman taken on a busy city street with plenty of action going on behind here. The Depth COntrol feature blurs the background, putting the focus on the woman.
Depth Control is a Portrait Mode feature on the latest iPhones. Once a Portrait Mode image has been captured, users can use the Depth Control slider to adjust the amount of background blur.
The other new video focuses on the Smart HDR feature of the new iPhones, which is an automatic feature that brings out the detail in less-than-ideally lit iPhone photos.
