The latest iOS 12.2 beta (the second beta), includes four new Animoji characters for use in the Messages and FaceTime apps. The new characters include a boar, a giraffe, an owl, and a shark. (No, not a baby shark.)
Animoji’s are designed to be used by owners of device equipped with a TrueDepth front-facing camera. Models that boast the feature include the iPhone X and newer handsets, as well as the latest iPad Pro models.
Animoji are 3D animated characters that mimic the movements and expressions of the user’s face. The TrueDepth camera can detect the movement of a users eyebrows, cheeks, eyes, lips, tongue, mouth, and more.
Animoji can be in the Messages app as stickers and as videos, with the Effects camera in Messages, and can be used to replace your face when FaceTiming with others.
