A report from the Chinese supply chain indicates the release of Apple’s long-anticipated AirPower wireless charging mat may finally be at hand. Initially, a Tweet from charging watchdogs ChargerLab, indicated that mass production of the AirPower has begun at Luxshare Precision.

As mentioned in the tweet from ChargerLab, the alleged AirPower manufacturing partner, Luxshare Precision makes AirPods wireless earbuds and USB-C cables for Apple.
ChargerLab has a decent track record of predicting the release of charging accessories, and of disclosing which companies manufacture them.
Another tweet from the same source indicated Pegatron will begin mass production of the AirPower on January 21.

Apple unveiled the AirPower charging mat at their 2017 iPhone X event, saying the new accessory would hit shelves in 2018. 2018 has come and gone, and so far we’ve seen hide-nor-hair of the accessory.
Reports during 2018 have indicated Apple was experiencing issues in getting the charging mat to perform properly, as it was designed to allow recent model iPhones, the Apple Watch, and a promised wireless charging case for Apple’s AirPods to charge no matter where the device was placed on the mat.
For now, we still wait for an official release date to be announced by Apple, but at least this recent tweet offers hope to those users who have bene anxiously awaiting the AirPower.
