Apple on Tuesday launched new Smart Battery Cases for use with its newest iPhone lineup, including the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. The new cases offer significantly longer battery life for the handsets.
The iPhone XS case ($129) adds up to 21 hours of internet use, 25 hours of video, or 33 hours of talk time. The XS Max case ($129) Provides an extra 20 hours of internet, 25 hours of video, and 37 hours of talk, while the XR case ($129) offers the biggest battery life boost, with 22 extra hours of internet, 27, hours of video and 39 hours of talk.
All three cases are available in black and white. They are all compatible with the Qi wireless charging standard, and can charge the iPhone simultaneously. They can also be recharged by Lightning-to-USB cables, with USB-C providing fast charging.
Rumors about the new battery cases began floating around the rumor pool in early December, after an image was leaked and an icon was found in watchOS 5.1.2.
