T-Mobile has joined AT&T and Verizon in announcing a discount on its prepaid unlimited data plan.
CNet:
Last week, AT&T rolled out a $20 discount on its prepaid unlimited data plans. A few days later Verizon responded with a $5 discount on its prepaid plans that cost $40/month or more. Now T-Mobile is following suit with a “limited-time offer” of $50/month for prepaid unlimited talk, text and data.
As is normal for deals like this, there are a few “gotchas.”
Domestic use only. On all T-Mobile plans, during congestion, the small fraction of customers using >50GB/mo. may notice reduced speeds until next bill cycle due to data prioritization. Video typically streams at 480p. Tethering at max 3G speeds. Unlimited data while on our network. Plus taxes & fees. Participating stores only.
The new $50 price knocks $10 off of the usual monthly price of the number three carrier’s regular prepaid unlimited plan ($60/month for T-Mobile Essentials Prepaid).
