watchOS 5.1.1, which was released on Monday to fix issues that were causing some Apple Watch Models to be bricked, offers a peek at some new Apple complications for the Apple Watch Series 4.
With iOS 12.1.1 and watchOS 5.1.1 installed, you can see seven new complications appear in the watch face gallery app for the Infograph and Infograph Modular faces: Home, Mail, Maps, Messages, News, Phone, and Remote.
These complications are selectable in the companion Watch app but unfortunately do not show up on the actual watch as functioning complications just yet; they render as blank zones.
While it isn’t clear why these empty complications have made an appearance before they’re ready to be populated, 9to5Mac theorizes that the complications were intended to be new features in the next watchOS update, but the bricking issue caused Apple to rush the 5.1.1 update without stripping the new complications from the code before release.
The new complications could make a full populated appearance in “watchOS 5.1.2” which should be making a beta appearance very soon.
