Data recovery company DriveSavers has announced what it says is the first iPhone passcode lockout recovery service for consumers.
GrayKey made headlines this year as a $15,000-$30,000 device that allowed law enforcement agencies and other organizations that could afford it to get past the iPhone’s passcode security.
However, it seems Apple patched the flaw that allowed GrayKey to make unlimited passcode attempts last month as reports from law enforcement officials said the device was no longer working.
However, DriveSavers says it has a guaranteed method of getting past passcodes of any length on the iPhone and other devices. The new service is targeted at consumers who have locked themselves out of their device.
DriveSavers can help. Utilizing new technology, we have a 100% success rate with unlocking and recovering data from passcode-protected smartphones of every make, model and operating system with any length passcode, including phones and tablets with more complicated passcodes of six digits or more.
The company says it can unlock and recover data form the following devices;
- Samsung
- Apple
- Huawei
- Lenovo
- Xioami
- LG
- ZTE
- Oppo
- iOS
- Android
- Windows
- BlackBerry
Although Apple could render this service useless at any point in time via a software update, the company says it is successful at this point in time. Pricing for the service isn’t mentioned on the company’s website, although it’s likely not cheap.
As the service is intended for use by the owner of a device, or their next of kin, the company say it goes through a legal process to heck for proper ownership.
How do we verify the owner of a device? We understand that there may be no perfect solution to this issue. However, we attempt to validate the legal right to access the data during all phases of the recovery process. This starts with the information gathered during the intake process. We also have a legal authorization form requiring specific information identifying the right to the data.
Our recovery engineers will note discrepancies between the intake information and the data on the device and notify the appropriate manager. Our Customer Service Department will follow up on any discrepancies and address these with the customer before we provide any data.
