Apple CEO Tim Cook announced on Twitter on Friday that Apple will be donating to fire relief efforts in Southern and Northern California.
Praying for the safety of our neighbors, loved ones and all those affected by the rapidly spreading fires in California. We’re grateful to the firefighters and first responders working to keep everyone safe. Apple is donating to relief efforts for Northern & Southern California.

This is high fire season in California although these days it seems fire season is year-round in the western state. Dry, windy weather has led to three huge fires in the state.
Northern California is currently being affected by the Camp Fire, located north of Sacramento, which has led to evacuations for the residents of Chico and Paradise. 29 deaths have been linked to the fire, and many homes have been destroyed in Paradise, California.
In Southern California, Los Angeles and Ventura counties are being hit by the Hill Fire and Woolsey Fires. Upwards of 75,000 homes in the two counties have bene evacuated, with a large number of structures already destroyed.
Apple is well-known to have offered similar donations to relief efforts for environmental disasters in the past, including fire relief efforts last year and earlier this year.
