Apple on Wednesday had a big update day for some of their popular iOS and Mac apps. The Cupertino firm released updates for iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote on both iOS and the Mac, and GarageBand on iOS.
iMovie for iOS now offers support for external displays when they’re connected to the new 2018 iPad Pros, providing either mirroring or fullscreen previews while editing. (The new iPad Pro tablets also support uncompressed 4K output.)
While Apple giveth when it comes to the iOS version of iMovie, it taketh away where the Mac version is concerned, removing its ability to share a video straight to Facebook. Instead, the app now offers a “Prepare for Facebook” option, which exports a video file which can be uploaded manually to Facebook.
The Mac and iOS versions of the iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote) all received updates, bringing the ever-popular performance and stability fixes to the apps. Pages also gains the ability to publish straight to Apple Books.
Last but not least, GarageBand for iOS gains a Wah stompbox and Face Control for the Smart Guitar tool. It also gains support for “Smart” and Bluetooth keyboards.
