Apple Seeds Fifth Beta of macOS Mojave 10.14.1 to Developers and Public Beta Testers

Apple on Tuesday seeded the fifth beta of their upcoming macOS Mojave 10.14.1 update to developers and public beta testers. The update comes one week after the fourth beta release. The fifth build of macOS 10.14.1 Mojave is 18B73a, and replaces the fourth build, 18B67a.

macOS Mojave introduces a new method of installing software updates. After the first beta seed is installed using the appropriate profile from the Apple Developer Center, later betas can be downloaded and installed using the “Software Updates” panel in System Preferences.

macOS Mojave 10.14.1 brings back support for Group FaceTime, which was removed during 10.14 beta testing. The feature allows users to chat with up to 32 people at once.

Also along for the ride are more than 70 new emoji characters, the same characters debuting in iOS 12.1 and watchOS 5.1. The new emojis include new options for various types of hair including red, as well as new faces, food items, and more.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install the beta on your primary Mac, instead only install it on a Mac set aside for testing purposes.
