Apple CEO Tim Cook has remembered his former boss and mentor Steve Jobs, who passed away 7 years ago on this day. Jobs, who was the co-founder of Apple, passed away on October 5, 2011.
With a photo of a young Jobs, Cook tweeted: “Steve showed me—and all of us—what it means to serve humanity. We miss him, today and every day, and we’ll never forget the example he set for us.”

The day Steve died, Cook remembered him with these words:
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. […]
No words can adequately express our sadness at Steve’s death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much.
