Apple CEO on Wednesday announced Apple will be donating to the recovery and relief efforts for Gulf Coast residents located in the path of Hurricane Michael.
Michael made landfall in Florida on Wednesday as a category four hurricane, packing 155 mile per hour winds and causing widespread devastation. The storm has since lessened and is considered a tropical storm. Michael is now making its way northeast.
Cook tweeted about the devastating storm on Wednesday, first expressing concern and offering prayers for those caught in the path of Michael.
I grew up on the shores of the Gulf Coast, near Pensacola and Mobile, and that region holds a special place in my heart. That’s never been more true than now. To all those communities in the path of Hurricane Michael, you are in my prayers. Please stay safe.

Two minutes later, Cook tweeted that Apple would be donating to recovery and relief efforts for those affected by the storm, which left behind serious damage, leaving over 500,000 folks without power.
Apple is standing with our friends and neighbors in the Gulf Coast region, and will be donating to recovery and relief efforts.

Although Cook did not announce the amount Apple will be donating, the company has provided $1 million in aid for other recent hurricane disasters.
