T-Mobile has renamed its prepaid carrier MetroPCS to “Metro by T-Mobile,” accenting it’s ownership by the big four carrier. The prepaid carrier is also announcing two new unlimited data plans.
The new name will take effect next month, and will offer a total of four rate plans, including two new plans that will include unlimited talk, text, and LTE data, as well as services from Google and Amazon.
The service’s base plan will start at $30 per month (taxes and fees included), and offers 2GB of LTE data and mobile hotspot usage from your LTE data. The carriers $40 per month plan bumps your data up to 10GB of LTE data, but with no hotspot usage.
The new $50 plan offers unlimited LTE data with 5GB of tethering, and 100GB of Google One cloud storage. The new $60 plan offers unlimited LTE data, with 15GB of LTE tethering. It also includes Google One cloud storage, and as an added benefit it also includes an Amazon Prime Membership.
The new plans will be launched in October.
