T-Mobile customers are now able to enroll in Apple’s iPhone Upgrade program online. Previously, T-Mobile customers had to visit an Apple Store to join the program.
The change is reflected in updated language in the Apple Store app, which now says that customers can join the iPhone Upgrade Program online with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon.
Customers of the other “big four” wireless providers (AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon), have been allowed to enroll in the iPhone Upgrade Program online since the program first launched. But T-Mobile customers were unable to do so until now. This was particularly disappointing for users during new iPhone launches.
Now, T-Mobile customers will be able to participate in the 2018 iPhone pre-order frenzy via the iPhone Upgrade program online without being forced to visit a retail store.
Apple last year began offering pre-approvals for the upgrade program, allowing for a more streamlined checkout process when pre-orders began. Apple is likely to offer the same pre-approval process for this year’s new iPhone orders.
