Apple Sends Out Media Invites for September 12 ‘Gather Round’ Event at Apple Park

Apple on Thursday sent out invitations to the media for its iPhone event set for Wednesday, September 12 at 10:00am Pacific (1:00pm Eastern). The event will be held the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park Campus in Cupertino, California.

The invite shows a gold ring and the tagline “Gather Round,” which looks to reference the ring-shaped main building located at Apple Park. The gold ring could also tie in to the new watch face for the new Apple Watch Series 4, which according to a leaked photo will be available in gold, as well as the new gold “iPhone XS” which also saw photos leaked today.

iPhones

Apple has been expected to debut three new iPhones at the September 12 event, including a 5.8-inch OLED device, a 6.5-inch OLED device and a low-cost 6.1-inch device with an LCD display.

All three new handsets are expected to be powered by a faster A12 processor, offer edge-to-edge displays, Face ID, and faster LTE.

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch Series 4 lineup will feature a larger display, with likely better battery life, and possibly improved health monitoring capabilities. But other than the photos released earlier today, nothing is for certain until the official unveiling.

New iPads and MacBooks?

So far today, we haven’t seen any leaked images of new iPads or MacBooks, so they may not make an appearance at the media shindig. We’ll have to wait and see.

MacTrast will be offering coverage of the September 12 media event, so hang loose, and come back then.
