Back to My Mac will not be available on macOS Mojave. You can get ready now by learning about alternatives for file access, screen sharing, and remote desktop access.

Back to My Mac debuted way back in 2007 alongside Mac OS X Leopard as a feature of the .Mac line of online services. Back to My Mac continued to be available as .Mac became MobileMe and then iCloud.

Users could use the feature to access files on another machine remotely, and to share the screen. Apple says with the debut of iCloud Drive and its Remote Desktop app, users no longer need the service.

The Apple support document offers information as to how Mojave users will be able to transition to iCloud Drive, screen sharing, and the Remote Desktop app.

macOS Mojave is due for a free public release this fall, and is currently in beta testing by developers and public beta testers.
