Apple is leaking like a sieve today, as in addition to a photo of the upcoming Apple Watch Series 4 leaking, images of the new 2018 “iPhone XS” have also leaked. The images, first published by 9to5Mac, offer the first real look at Apple’s upcoming iPhone lineup.
It has been much-rumored that Apple will debut three new iPhones at their September 12 media shindig, including a a 5.8-inch OLED device, a 6.5-inch OLED device and a low-cost 6.1-inch device with an LCD display.
Today’s images confirm the existence of the two OLED models, and show them in a new golden color. Color options for last year’s flagship, the iPhone X was limited to silver and space gray.
The new iPhones boast an edge-to-edge display, with no Home button. The new phones will use Face ID in place of Touch ID just as the iPhone X does.
Leaked data unveils Apple’s plans to call both the 5.8 and the 6.5-inch OLED iPhones the “iPhone XS.” Which may cause confusion for some consumers. (Plus, did they say it out loud? “iPhone excess.”)
For any more info about the new iPhones we’ll all likely have to wait until Apple’s media event on September 12 at 10:00am Pacific time. Well, unless there are any other leaks that is.
