Apple Seeds iOS 12 Beta Four to Developers

Apple on Tuesday seeded the fourth beta of iOS 12 to developers. The beta release is build number 16A5327f.

The new beta can be downloaded by registered developers directly from Apple’s Developer Center or over-the-air after installing the proper certificate.

Apple’s release notes for beta 4 indicate there are a number of new issues in the beta, as well as a number of previous issues that were fixed in the new beta.

Screen Time usage data may not sync properly between iOS 12 devices. Apple says a restart should fix the issue.

Apps in the App Store may fail to download properly on the first attempt, and don’t trust the cellular signal bar on your iPhone X on either the Lock Screen or the Home Screen, as it may be inaccurate.

Siri Shortcuts continues to not be ready for prime time, as Shortcuts may not work while using CarPlay, and Shortcuts may not be restored from an iCloud backup.

There are more, but those are the “highlights.”

As always, Apple strongly advises to only install the iOS 12 beta on a device used for development and testing purposes, and not on your daily driver device.
