Google on Monday announced a new storage and pricing structure for their cloud storage plans offered to Google account holders. The storage plans range from 100GB to 30TB.
The new storage plans are called “Google One,” and will replace the current Google Drive paid storage plans. Pricing includes 100GB storage for $1.99 per month, 200GB for $2.99 per month, and 2TB for $9.99 per month (down from $19.99).
(Apple’s iCloud monthly storage plans fees are 50GB for $0.99, 200GB for $2.99, 2TB for $9.99, all users receive 5GB free storage.)
The search giant is removing its 1TB for $9.99 per month plan. All Google users receive 15GB of free cloud storage. Users can use the space to store Gmail, Google Drive files, photos and video. The change doesn’t affect G Suite business customers.
Paid Drive storage plan users will be upgraded to Google One automatically over the coming months, starting in the U.S. and then expanding internationally. users will receive an email confirming the upgrade to Google One, with a link where they can manage their storage plan and benefits. The way users use Drive to store and share their files will not change.
