MacGeneration reports it has spotted discussions in the open source WebKit mailing list that include references to iOS 12. A contributor included testing logs showing a WebKit nightly build running on an iPhone 5s simulator.
This is just the first of what we’re sure will be numerous sightings of iOS 12 devices and simulators running the upcoming new mobile operating system. Apple’s upcoming new operating system for its mobile devices will debut during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which will take place in June.
The reveal also indicates iPhone 5s will be capable of running iOS 12. This isn’t unusual, as Apple generally supports older models of their devices in new versions of iOS for five years. However, there are no guarantees, so only time will tell if iPhone 5s owners will be left behind this time around.
9to5Mac reports their web traffic shows many iOS 12 devices sporting a 1136×640 screen resolution, which is the screen size sported by the iPhone 5s. However, the iPhone SE also boasts that screen resolution, so only time will tell if the iPhone 5s will be compatible with the new OS.
