iOS 11, Apple’s latest mobile operating system for their iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, is installed on 76% of compatible devices as of April 22. Apple shared this information earlier today on the App Store support page for developers.
That’s an increase of 11 percentage points since January 18, when the operating system was on 65% of devices.
As for the other 24% of iOS devices still operating, 19% of devices continue to run iOS 10, while 5% are running iOS 9 or earlier.
Adoption of iOS 11 has been slower than that of iOS 10, likely due to some high-profile issues and bugs, like the iPhone slowdown controversy, which saw Apple actively throttling the performance of older iPhones with worn batteries. Other issues include Spectre and Meltdown security vulnerabilities and the HomeKit bug.
