Apple recently added all-new 4K aerial footage of Los Angeles at night to its aerial screen savers rotation on the Apple TV 4K.
The new footage joins a list of aerial screen savers ported from the original fourth-generation Apple TV lineup. It is the first new screen saver since the release of the Apple TV 4K in September.
The new screen saver can be downloaded here in 2K. The footage is encoded as an HEVC file. HEVC debuted in iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra, allowing mobile devices to better handle 4K video.
There are now 14 4K aerial views available for the Apple TV 4K. Flyover locations include Dubai, Greenland, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and the United Arab Emirates. The footage of the older views is identical to those available on the fourth-generation 1080p-capable Apple TV.
Users can control the frequency at which new Aerial screen savers are downloaded to their little black box that could, via the Settings app on their Apple TV.
