A filing with Chinese officials appears to confirm reports about the internal specifications of the upcoming iPhone X handsets. Apple’s soon to debut flagship device will feature 3GB of RAM, and a 2,716mAh battery.
First spotted this morning by mobile leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, the filing with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) lists the iPhone X as having a 2,715mAh battery. For reference, the iPhone 8 is believed to have a 1,821mAh capacity battery.
The higher-capacity battery will come in handy to drive the iPhone X’s new OLED screen. While OLED display tech requires less energy than comparable LCD panels, the device will likely require more power, due to its large 5.8-inch screen.
The listing also reveals the device will sport an A11 Bionic chip a 2.4GHz clock speed with 3GB of RAM, two details that match the iPhone 8 Plus.
Preorders for the iPhone X will kickoff on October 27, and will be available in-store on November 3. However, the new handset is expected to be in extremely short supply until early 2018.
