During Tuesday’s iPhone X event, Apple unveiled its revamped iPhone lineup, offering an iPhone price point for everyone, from the budget user up to the user who requires the best of everything. The company has lowered the prices on its older models.
The iPhone lineup now includes the iPhone SE ($349 for the 32GB base model), the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus (starting at $449 and $549 respectively for the 32GB model), the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (starting at $549 and $649 respectively for a 32GB base model), the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus ($699 and $799 respectively for the 64GB model), and the top-of-the-line iPhone X, which will run $999 for the 64GB model.
The 4-inch iPhone SE entry-level handset now carries a lower price point of $349 for the 32GB version and $449 for the 128GB version. When purchased via carrier financing, prices start at $14.55 per month.
The next step up is the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The handsets, which have been around for two years now, help fill in the lower-middle-tier of the lineup, with 32GB and 128GB capacities, starting at $449 and $549 respectively.
Taking their spot as Apple’s upper-middle-tier devices are the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, also in 32 and 128GB capacities. The iPhone 7 starts at $549, while it’s larger counterpart, the iPhone 7 Plus, starts at $669.
Apple’s new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus handsets, unveiled on Tuesday, help fill out the high-end of the Cupertino firm’s device offerings, with the iPhone 8 priced at $699 for the 64GB model and $849 for the 256GB model. The iPhone 8 Plus will go for $799 for the 64GB model and $949 for the 256GB model. (Pre-orders for the device kickoff at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time on Friday, September 15.
For those that deserve, (or, at least can afford) the top of the line iPhone, Apple’s iPhone X fills that need quite nicely. The new flagship handset will be available in 64GB and 256GB capacities, taking $999 and $1,149 chunks out of your billfold, credit, or debit card. The iPhone X will be available for pre-order at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time on Friday, October 27 leading into a Friday, November 3 launch.
