Where does the time go? You tap the Facebook icon to quickly check your notifications, and an hour later you come out the other side of the rabbit hole. Time flies when you having fun and ridiculing “friends” over politics.
If you’ve ever wondered just how much time you spend in app on your iPhone or iPad, recent versions of iOS offer a quick and easy way to find out. You can view how long you’ve used a particular app in both the last 24 hours and the last 7 days.
1.) Open the Settings app on your iOS device, and then tap the Battery menu option from the Settings menu.
2.) On the Battery screen, scroll down to the BATTERY USAGE portion of the screen.
3.) Tap the little clock icon.
4.) You’ll see a list of your installed apps. Look beneath the app name, and you’ll see exactly how much time each app has been used.
5.) You can switch between a 24 hour and 7 days view by tapping the buttons at the top of the list.
You’ll see stats for both “on screen” and “background” usage in the list. “On screen” is the amount of time the app was in the foreground, being actively used by you. “Background” measures how long an app was actively doing something while it was in the background and not being actively used by you.
Once you see how much time you’re spending in certain apps, you may be able to understand a bit better exactly where the day goes. Adjust your schedule accordingly.
