Google on Tuesday released Chrome 60, the latest version of their popular web browser for the Mac. Chrome 60 offers support for 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pro models with Touch Bar.
The new version of Chrome allows MacBook Pro users to use the OLED toolbar to page back and forward, refresh, favorites and add new tab controls. Tapping a central text box sporting the Google logo allows for quick input of search terms and web addresses. Users can customize the Touch Bar in Chrome via the “View” -> “Customize Touch Bar” menu item.
The MacBook Pro with Touch Bar debuted last November, and while Apple has included Touch Bar support into its first-party titles, third-party developers have been slow to take advantage of the feature.
Tuesday’s update also includes security fixes, and new and updated Web Budget, Payment Request, Paint Timing, and Credential Management APIs for developers. The update also brings support for the CSS @font-face descriptor and font-display property for faster font loading on websites.
Chrome users can update their browsers by clicking “About Google Chrome” in the Chrome menu, or by visiting the Chrome website
