Apple participated in some of the LGBTQ Pride 2017 parades that took place over the weekend around the world. Company employees joined in parades that were held in San Francisco, New York, and Toronto.
Apple CEO Tim Cook tweeted in support of the parades and Apple employees’ participation.
Apple participants handed out t-shirts displaying a rainbow Apple Logo to marchers, and the company erected a large “#applepride” structure at the San Francisco Pride Parade to allow visitors to write messages supporting the event.
Apple and their employees have participated in the celebrations in previous years, as the company has long expressed support for LGBTQ issues, such as same sex marriage, and speaking out against laws that are seen as negatively affecting the lives of lesbian, gay and transgender folk.
Apple CEO, who came out as gay in late 2014, has spoken out for gay rights via a number of speeches and op-ed editorial pieces.
