Matthew Roberts of Maverick Media has shared his latest bit of 4K drone video footage of Apple Park with us, and this time it’s something a bit different. It displays the progress the project has made over the last year.
Roberts starts the video at June 2016, progressing up through May 2017, when only small pieces of the project need to be completed, and employees are moving in. He splits the video up into separate sections concentrating on individual pieces of the construction project – such as the main “Spaceship” building, the main tunnel, R&D facility, the Steve Jobs Theater, and others – allowing viewers to view the progress on each particular section.
Construction is still progressing at the new campus, with small landscaping details still being put in place, and construction continuing on the Steve Jobs Theater. Employees have begun moving into the main building.
Apple Park is the result of an idea for a “Spaceship Campus” by late Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who first pushed the plans to the Cupertino City Council in 2001. While the project was expected to be completed in 2015, Construction delays pushed the projects completion data to the spring of 2017. However, a small number of employees have begun moving into their new home.
