Have you ever wished Siri was a guy? Or a British guy? Or a British woman? It’s easy to change Siri’s gender and accent with just a few taps. Here’s how.

How to Change Siri’s Gender and Accent in iOS 10

While it’s been possible to change Siri’s voice gender since iOS 6, the method used has changed a bit with each iOS update. Originally you had to change Siri’s region settings, which could affect Siri’s accuracy.

iOS 10 supports both male and female voices for Siri, as well as American, British, and Australian accents. (These instructions assume your device language is set to English, but the steps should be similar to use other languages, just the accents will be different.)

To Change Siri’s gender or accent, do the following:

1. Open “Settings,” and then tap “Siri” in the Settings menu.
2. Tap “Siri Voice” in the Siri menu.
3. Here, you can select whether Siri will be Male or Female, and select an American, Australian, or British accent for your personal assistant.

Each time you tap an option to make a change to Siri’s gender or accent, you’ll hear what Siri’s new voice will sound like.

Note: Siri’s changes may require a download of new support files to your device. So, if you’r eon cellular data, keep this in mind. Also, the changes in accent or gender won’t take effect until after the download is completed.
