Apple’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ TV Series to Premier Aug. 8 on Apple Music

Apple announced on Tuesday that “Carpool Karaoke: The Series,” will debut exclusively for Apple Music subscribers on August 8. The show will feature many of today’s biggest celebrities “buckling up and belting out their favorite songs for a road trip filled with comedy, conversation and music.”

Carpool Karaoke: The Series for Apple Music will welcome a different group of superstars every Tuesday, with new episodes available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers in more than 100 countries. Celebrity pairings include Will Smith and James Corden; Miley, Noah, Billy Ray and the entire Cyrus family; Shakira and Trevor Noah; Game of Thrones stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams; Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith; John Legend, Alicia Keys and Taraji P. Henson; LeBron James and James Corden; and many more.

The show is a spinoff of a popular segment featured on “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” There will be 16 pairings in all, with each episode lasting 30 minutes.

While the show was expected to premier in April, Apple announced toward the end of that month that the show would be delayed until later this year.

 

“Carpool Karaoke” is just one of several project the Cupertino iPhone maker is said to be working on for showing via Apple Music. Reality show “Planet of the Apps,” is still in production.

Apple is also producing a string of documentaries, including shows about Bad Boy Records, Cash Money Records, and music executive Clive Davis. (Via AppleInsider)
