Google on Tuesday announced an update to their popular Google Maps for iOS app. The app will now remember where you parked your car once you’ve reached your destination.
If your iPhone isn’t connected to your car via Bluetooth or USB Audio, you’ll mark the spot manually.
… Tap on the blue dot and then tap on “Set as parking location” to add your parking spot to the map itself. Tap on the parking label on the map to open up your parking card and do things like share it with friends and view pictures of your parking area. This is in addition to the automatic parking detection you might have already noticed in Google Maps for iOS.
If you have your iPhone connected to you vehicle via Bluetooth or USB audio, Google Maps will automatically remember your vehicle’s location when you disconnect your iPhone. That feature was already available in Google Maps. A similar feature is also available in Apple’s Maps app.
Version 4.30.0 also includes the following updates:
- Get turn-by-turn navigation right on your lock screen with the new Directions widget
- Use the new iMessage app to send your static location to contacts without leaving the conversation
- Bug fixes
