How to Change the Displayed Font Size in iOS 10

Once you reach a certain age, the tiny font used by default on your iOS 10 device might not be so easy to read. Luckily, there’s a quick way to enlarge the font for easier reading.

Just FYI, this change will also affect the text in a number of apps on your device, depending on if they support Dynamic Type. We use the Messages app in this “how-to,” but be sure to also check the other apps to view how things will look there.

How to Change the Displayed Font Size in iOS 10

• Open Settings and tap the “General” menu option.
• Once in the “General” menu, tap the “Accessibility” menu option. (It’s about halfway down the menu.)
• Now that you’re in “Accessibility”, tap the “Larger Text” menu option.
• You’ll now see a slider. Sliding the control to the right enlarges the font for your device. (And, as you might guess, sliding it to the left shrinks the font.)
• You can also toggle the “Larger Accessibility Sizes” switch to “ON” to enable even larger font sizes.

You’ll be able to see the text on the screen change size as you slide the font slider back and forth. You can also check an app like the Messages app to see how the text changes. Play with the slider until the text looks readable.
