The online Apple store was taken down early Friday morning to prepare for the release of its (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models. The new handsets will be available in over 40 countries and regions around the world. The new handsets feature a beautiful red finish sporting a white Apple logo on the back, and a white bezel on the front.
Internet users attempting to access the store section of the U.S. site are being met with the familiar “We’ve got something special in store for you” placeholder, accompanied by a relaunch time of 8:01 a.m. Pacific Time, which is when Apple previously said it would officially be launching the new red color iPhone.
The new red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus model will be available in 128GB and 256GB storage options, for $749/$849 and $869/$969, respectively. Those prices are the same as the other color options of the handsets.
The Cupertino firm is also launching a new, lower-priced 9.7-inch iPad, which replaces the iPad Air 2. Also new today will be expanded storage models of the iPhone SE and iPad mini 4.
Apple’s “iPad” is Apple’s new entry-level 9.7-inch tablet, and sells for $329 for 32GB and $429 for 128GB storage options. The new tablet will be available in more than 20 countries and regions.
The iPhone SE will now be available in new 32GB and 128GB capacities, priced at $399 and $499 respectively. The new models replace the original 16GB and 64GB models, which were priced at $399 and $449, respectively.
The new 128GB iPad mini 4 will also be available, starting at $399. It replaces the discontinued 32GB model with Wi-Fi, which was also priced at $399. A Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad 4 with 128GB of storage will also be available for $529.
Also announced on Tuesday were new Apple Watch bands and iPhone cases in new colors.
