You may recall our report last week about Apple offering a 32GB iPhone 6 model to customers in Taiwan and China. Now comes a report from AppleInsider that Amazon is now offering the same model to its customers in India.
Amazon’s regional store is advertising the 32-gigabyte iPhone 6 on the front page, along with a two-day deal that ends on March 7. Customers are able to acquire it for Rs 28,999 ($435), discounted from Rs 30,700 ($460) though it can be reduced further with an exchange of an old smartphone, with free delivery also available.
The new offer makes the 32GB model of the iPhone 6 a better deal than the 16GB model, also on sale from Amazon India. The 16GB device is available for Rs 29,799 ($447). However, the 32GB option is available only in Space Grey, while the 16GB model is available in other colors.
Apple has been pushing the Indian government to allow it to offer refurbished iPhones in the Indian market. However, it appears the iPhone on sale via Amazon India is a new model.
32GB iPhone 6 Also Available in Taiwan and China
The 32 GB iPhone 6 is on sale at select carriers in Asia as a low-end model. The device is not sold by Apple retail in those countries. The device will launch on Taiwan Mobile on March 10 and has been available in China since late February.
Apple discontinued the iPhone 6 in September of 2016, immediately following the launch of the iPhone 7 lineup. The iPhone 6s took the place of the 6 as the mid-tier offering in Apple’s device lineup. Apple had never offered a 32 GB model of the iPhone 6. It was originally sold in 16/64/128 GB configurations.
