Verizon is once again a member of the unlimited data providers club, offering an unlimited data plan for the first time in years. The new plan offers subscribers unlimited talk, text, and data for $80 per month for a single line.
Verizon announced the new plan via its YouTube channel on Sunday. The deal becomes available today. While the first line will run $80 per month, additional lines of service can be added for $45 per month. The company warns data could be throttle for users in congested areas that use over 22GB per month.
In addition to unlimited data, the new Verizon plan also offers a Mobile Hotspot feature, supplying 10GB of 4G LTE data. After the 10GB limit has been reached, the hotspot connection will drop to 3G speeds.
Video streaming will be compressed to 720p resolution, and audio streams will also be compressed. The plan also includes calling and texting to Canada and Mexico and offers 50oMB per day of 4G LTE data roaming each day in both countries.
The carrier is also offering a free phone for customers of other networks who switch to Verizon’s Unlimited Plan and trade-in their current phone.
