Apple on Monday released an update for their iTunes media management app. The update – version 12.5.5 – is available for both macOS and Windows.
iTunes is the best way to organize and enjoy the music, movies, and TV shows you already have — and shop for the ones you want to get. It’s home to Apple Music, which gives you unlimited access to millions of songs, curated playlists, and Beats 1 radio, hosted by Zane Lowe and a team of acclaimed DJs. Enjoy all the entertainment iTunes has to offer on your Mac and PC.
The update appears to be a minor one, as Apple merely listed “minor app and performance improvements” in the update’s release notes.
Mac users can download and install the new version via the “Update” tab in the Mac App Store. Mac and Windows users can check if they have the most recent version by clicking “Check for Updates…” in the iTunes app menu. New users can download the app from the Apple iTunes website.
Apple last updated the app in mid-December, when version 12.5.4 was released, bringing support for the TV app that was introduced in iOS 10.2 and tvOS 10.1. It also added support for the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar, allowing users to use it to quickly fast forward and rewind through media, including movies, television shows, and songs.
