CBS All Access Streaming Service to Offer Live NFL Action Beginning Dec. 4

CBS has announced it will be streaming this season’s remaining NFL action via its CBS All Access video service, starting this Sunday, December 4. Apple TV, Roku, PC and Mac users will be able to see all the action, but smartphone users will have to turn elsewhere for NFL action, because Verizon is hanging onto exclusive rights for mobile.

CBS All Access will also allow users to sample content from NFL Game Pass, the NFL’s digital video subscription service which makes games and other programming available on-demand.

All NFL on CBS games will be included in the new offering, including the usual pregame and halftime coverage. (Subject to local blackouts and such.) The network says the games will be available in 150 markets. While the stream won’t be available on smartphones — other than those on the Verizon network — All Access viewers can view the action via an iPad, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Fire TV, PlayStation 4, Xbox, and on the Web.

If you’re not a CBS All Access subscriber, you can get a seven-day free trial to check out the gridiron action, along with the usual CBS offerings. If you like what you see, a “Limited Commercials” plan is $5.99 per month, and a “Commercial Free” plan is available for $9.99. (They keep using that word. We do not think it means what they think it means, as the “Commercial Free” plan still shows some commercials.)
