Interested in the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, but you really want to get a hands-on feel for it before you decide to buy? Then you’ll be glad to know the new notebook will be available for sale, and to try out in Apple retail stores later this week.
Apple retail stores are expected to receive shipments of the new MacBook Pros early this week with the first demo units and available stock planned to go out by Thursday.
Until now, Apple has had the new laptops on display in stores, but they’ve been running a demo loop, protected by a layer of glass. But later this week, interested customers will finally get to take them for an actual test run in many of Apple’s retail locations.
The report indicates some stores will also feature demo units of the new LG UltraFine 4K and 5K displays that Apple debuted alongside the new MacBook Pro models last month. The new displays are an Apple-only item, and won’t be available from anyone else. Currently, the 4K model is the only one that is shipping to buyers, taking 5 to 6 weeks to ship. Apple recently announced a limited time price cut on both monitors.
As for the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar demo units, not all stores will have them, but Apple’s flagship stores will almost certainly have them. If you happen to see any demo units in your local Apple store, be sure to let us know which store it is, in the comments section below.
