Canadian Carrier Bell Debuts Their Fibe TV App for 4th-Generation Apple TV

Canadian Apple TV users are getting some much-needed Apple TV app love, as Canadian carrier Bell has announced the availability of its new Fibe TV app for the fourth-generation Apple TV. Fibe TV is Canada’s largest internet-based TV service, boasting 1.3 million subscribers as of their last count.

“Fibe TV continues to be the fastest growing TV service in Canada because of our constant focus on delivering new and exclusive features and building great partnerships to make television better,” said Rizwan Jamal, President of Bell Residential and Small Business. “Consumers can access Fibe TV through a receiver, on their computer or mobile device, and now, for the first time in Canada, on Apple TV.”

The new app allows Fibe TV subscribers to access up to 450 channels, live or on-demand. The app will offer viewers the ability to record, pause, and rewind live TV later this year. The app also offers a programming guide for live TV, trending and on-demand shows, and search features. It will add a dedicated menu for recorded shows later this year.

The new Fibe TV app does require an unlimited internet plan, which Bell will happily sell you for an additional $15 per month. If you don’t already have a fourth-generation Apple TV, Bell will also sell you one, for $199, and it is available through its website, as well as its stores in Ontario and Québec. A live demonstration of the app on the Apple TV is also at those same stores.
