Apple is offering a special Apple Watch Thanksgiving Day activity achievement to users who do more than just walk from the couch to the dinner table and back again. The activity challenge was sent to Apple Watch users this morning as a notification, as seen below.
The challenge in the Activity app reads:
Thanksgiving Day Challenge
Earn this special achievement on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th when you complete a walk, run or wheelchair workout of at least 5K (3.1 mi) in the Apple Watch Workout app, or any app that records these workouts into the iPhone Health app. You’ll also earn a special Messages app sticker!
Any Apple Watch user who completes a walk, run, or wheelchair workout of at least 5K (3.1 miles) this coming Thursday, November 24, will earn a special achievement badge, as well as a shareable Messages app sticker. (Because what good is an achievement if you can’t flaunt it in everyone else’s face?)
The Thanksgiving Day Challenge is the first of its kind from Apple (as far as we know). The 5K workout must be completed on Thanksgiving Day, and can be completed via Apple’s Workout app, or any third-party app that syncs with the iPhone Health app.
Upon completion, the achievement will be added to the user’s history of achievements, which are viewable via the iOS Activity app.
