Apple TV’s Universal Search Adds MUBI, Hopster, and CW Seed to Results

Apple has added three new streaming services to the fourth-generation Apple TV’s Universal Search function. The channels added are MUBI, Hopster, and CW Seed.

The new search functionality is not available everywhere, as MUBI’s Universal Search results are available only in the United States, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, Hopster is only available in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and CW Seed is only available in the U.S.

If you’re not familiar with any of the three services, and why would you be, MUBI is a $5.99 per month streaming service that offers its subscribers a new film each day of the month, so there is always a new film to view each day when you open the app. Hopster is a $4.99 per month video streaming service designed to offer safe, ad-free entertainment for the little ones. Lastly, CW Seed is a spinoff of The CW, offering free streaming of short digital series, and older network series. It doesn’t include any of the CW’s current fodder, as that is limited to the CW’s own streaming app.

The set-top device’s Universal Search function allows users to search for content by voice via their Siri Remote, or use text-based searches over a wide variety of television and movie content, and across a wide range of channels.

The following apps are currently included in U.S. searches:
