A recent survey Apple has been sending to MacBook Pro users has fired up rumors that Apple may be considering doing away with the headphone jack on some future edition of their MacBook Pro lineup, as they recently did with their latest iPhones.

… A survey question shared by MacRumors reader Blake asks “Do you ever use the headphone port on your MacBook Pro with Retina display?”
Several Twitter users also report being asked similar questions about the headphone jack. To be fair, the Cupertino firm is also querying users about such things as battery life, and the MacBook’s other ports.
I just received a survey from Apple that contained this question: pic.twitter.com/tlylnMMDE1

MacRumors notes recently leaked photos of what is allegedly the shell from an upcoming MacBook Pro model shows a unit with four USB-C ports and a headphone jack. No other ports, such as an HDMI port, USB-A port, SD card slot, or MagSafe connector are to be seen.
If the photo is genuine, it indicates MacBook Pro users don’t need to worry their pretty little heads over the loass of the headphone port for awhile, as Apple tends to keep using the same design for several years in a row, so it looks like the much beloved port won’t be going away any time soon.
